Veterans at Rest in the St. James Churchyard

We assume burials began in the church cemetery as early as 1712, but reliable cemetery records began in 1833.
The churchyard is the final resting place of over 75 veterans, including: 
  • at least 10 we know of from the Revolutionary War
  • 35 from the Civil War
  • 8 from World War I
  • 18 from World War II
